tent city
A satirical installation experience conceived and built by Liv Bast and Gabby Nuñez inspired by our personal experiences with the affordable housing crisis.

Artistic Statement: Tent City will be an inclusive, immersive experience that pushes the boundaries of art and ethics, and encourages our community to formulate their own thoughts about the lives of our unhoused neighbors and the concept of home through conflicting visual imagery and eccentric performance art.
Tent City included 11 tents with interiors and exteriors fully furnished in “tent scale,” a painted street and culdesac, 110 pieces of fence, landscaping beds, mailboxes, a fenced dog park, a half basketball court, and a croquet lawn. The neighborhood was left untouched during the run of the installation, allowing people to see the impact of nature on the homes, though we did host 3 events on-site during this time.
